Due to the special structure of turquoise dyes, it is important, apart from the usual “advice and precautions“, to observe a few peculiarities when pretreating and dyeing fabric turquoise.

Experiences from practice:

Turquoise dyes tend to form agglomerates with non-ionic substances. Therefore, do not use non-ionic auxiliaries, such as wetting agents, washing agents, bleaching stabilisers, dispersing agents, running crease inhibitors or levellers, neither in pretreatment nor during dyeing.
For avoiding partial dyestuff destruction by residual peroxide and unlevelness resulting from it, we urgently recommend to remove residual peroxide ecologically and economically by a catalase of the type RUCOLASE KAT, after bleaching.

Strictly observe the instructions for dissolving of the respective dyestuff manufacturer when preparing and dissolving the dyestuff. Always add the dissolved dyestuff through a filter cloth to the liquor. Even when using dyestuffs with the same CI-number, our service laboratory found significant differences in the dissolving behaviour and microdispersion.

When dying PES turquoise, we urgently recommend the use of a reducing agent of the type RUCORIT GOX, since even with usual dyeing times there is the risk of colour fluctuations and unlevelness due to the deterioration of dyestuff on boiling.
